Rock Cut Residence

The plan changes direction repeatedly and the roof follows every move, so the covering is made almost entirely of junctions: hips falling into valleys, valleys running back up into ridges, and a projecting gable cutting across the main pitch.

Work like this is decided at the intersections, and the courses line through at each one. Rock face and conifers stand close to the building, which puts the roof and its drainage lines fully in view from above.
