Terms of sale

The terms on which VANKKA quotes, manufactures, sells and delivers. Project-specific terms are issued with each quotation and take precedence over this page.

Draft — pending legal review. This document sets out the required structure only. It has not been reviewed by counsel and must not be relied upon until VANKKA’s legal advisers have approved the final wording.

01

Scope

These terms apply to the sale of manufactured products by VANKKA. They do not cover installation, which is contracted separately between the customer and their chosen installer.

02

Quotations

Quotations are prepared against the information supplied by the customer and are valid for the period stated on the quotation. A quotation is an offer to supply the specification described in it; where the information supplied proves to be incorrect, the quotation may be revised.

Where VANKKA identifies that a requested profile, coating or build-up is unsuitable for the stated pitch, span or exposure, this will be raised before an order is accepted.

03

Orders and custom manufacture

Orders are accepted in writing. Cut-to-length production and bespoke folding are made to the customer's dimensions and drawings and cannot be restocked, so they are non-returnable once production has begun.

For bespoke work, a folded profile drawing is issued for approval before production. Approval of that drawing fixes the geometry to be manufactured.

04

Prices, payment and deposits

Prices, currency, applicable taxes and payment terms are stated on the quotation. Deposit requirements for custom manufacture are confirmed at order.

05

Delivery

Delivery terms, incoterms and lead times are confirmed with each quotation. Lead times are estimates given in good faith and are dependent on coil availability, coating and colour, and destination.

Goods must be inspected on delivery. Transit damage should be recorded at the point of receipt and notified promptly, as claims cannot be assessed once material has been installed.

06

Handling and storage

Coated steel must be stored dry, ventilated and clear of the ground, and must not be left in contact with standing water. Cutting must be carried out with a nibbler, shears or a cold-cut saw — never with an abrasive disc.

Damage arising from incorrect handling, storage or cutting is not a manufacturing defect and is excluded from warranty cover.

07

Warranty

VANKKA warrants the manufactured product against defined criteria set out in the warranty document issued with the order. Terms vary by coating system and by site exposure classification.

Warranties cover the product as manufactured. They do not cover installation workmanship, mechanical damage, use outside the specified exposure class, or use with incompatible materials or fixings.

08

Liability

Limitations of liability, force majeure, retention of title, governing law and dispute resolution are set out in the full contractual terms issued with each quotation.
