Overview
Board and batten is the vernacular of Nordic timber building: a wide board, a narrow cover strip, a strong vertical rhythm up the elevation. VANKKA Batten reproduces that proportion in coated steel, with a raised batten at a set spacing and concealed fixings between.
It suits buildings that need to sit correctly in a timber context — housing, schools, rural and holiday properties — while being maintained by hosing it down rather than repainting it. The vertical line also does something useful visually: it makes a low building look taller and a long elevation look shorter.
Batten spacing is a design decision, not a manufacturing constraint. Tell us the rhythm you want and we will roll to it.
